Performing Arts

Our school offers an extensive Performing Arts program combining the elements of Music and Drama. Our Performing Arts teacher, Sarah Watson, takes all grades on a weekly basis in our purpose built Performing Arts space.

The Pied Piper school productionDespite 2009 being our first year of operation, our school has already forged a strong culture in this area of learning. Our school choir has performed on a regular basis at the school, as well as in the local and wider community. Students from PLPS also participated in the Boite Schools’ Chorus, a 350 member choir who perform on an annual basis.

As well as our specialist music lessons, our school also offers tuition in instrumental music for students in grades 2-6. This instruction is provided by Excel Music, an outside provider, on a user pays system. Tuition is currently available for our students to learn violin, flute, keyboard and guitar. Further information regarding the provision of instrumental music is available at www.excelmusic.com.au

The culmination of the 2009 Performing Arts program was the whole school musical performance of “The Pied Piper of Hamelin” at the Cardinia Cultural Centre. Every year since has seen us perform many concerts during each year. In 2013 our prep and Grade 1's are performing "Elvis comes to Lakeside", grades 2 to 4 a Dance concert and grades 5-6 a musical.
