Koorie Cultural Leadership Conference

The national NAIDOC Week in 2024 will be celebrated from July 7^th to July 14^th with the theme being “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud”, celebrating resilience, unity and pride and shining a light on the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture. 

 

Our school and network will be celebrating NAIDOC Week in the first week of term 3. Part of the celebrations involves a Student Leadership Conference for our Koorie and Cultural Leaders. This event involves student leaders visiting The Cranbourne Botanic Gardens. The students will participate in a tour of the gardens and learn about indigenous plants and their uses in food and medicine. They will also have the opportunity to explore some artefacts and tools used for gathering food and hunting as well as participating in some traditional games.
