During term three, the students in Year One are investigating the features of Minibeasts as part of their Science and Inquiry studies.
The world of Minibeasts and the important role these creatures play in our lives will be explored. To launch into their learning on Minibeasts, students participated in an interactive Minibeast incursion run by Labcoat Learning.
The program brings the world of Minibeasts to the classroom and provides students with an opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of these creatures in a fun, safe and interactive way.
There was a mix of excitement and trepidation when the stick insect and yabby were being held by the educator. The students shared that one of their favourite parts of the experience was being able to go inside the butterfly tent and closely watch the butterflies feeding, with some students having the butterflies land on them.
